The Personal Letters of ...Private Bertie

by Kathleen
(Oklahoma )

I am having no luck...

This 52 page, paperback was "Imposed Upon the Public by Corp. Isham J. Osborne with Introductory Note by Corporal Kent Watson." Printed in 1918 by Paxton & Evans, Printers, Ft. Worth, with a selling price of 50 cents.

The book consists of Bertie's humorous letters written to his parents and "the folks" back home. The first letter is dated September 7, 1917 and he was stationed in Camp Bowie, Texas. The cover has a simple black ink illustration of a soldier and four or five similar illustrations throughout the book.

The book has a simple brown cover bound by two staples. The cover has worn through about 1 1/2 inches from the bottom, but staples are in tact. The previous owner used a blue stamp that says "Andy" which is about 1 inch and also a couple of blue ink smudges as well.

I am not sure how to rate the condition of books, but this seems to be in good condition for the age and binding type.

I welcome any information you have!
