Strand Books

Strand Books is an independent book store located on 12th Street and Broadway in New York City. Strand states that they have 8 miles of books in their store. I think they have more!

Strand sells everything from review copies at half price to new and used books on any and all subjects, rare and hard to find collectibles plus one of the best collections of Art books anywhere, a huge assortment of signed editions, plus a number of $1 tables outside.

Strand also has many author signings , readings and other 'meet the author' type events.

The service at Strand is exceptional. Every person working there seems to know their books and will help you in any way. The owner of the shop is almost always there when I visit and he always has time to chat.

I have been shopping at Strand for almost 50 years.

I think of it is my 'special place' when I visit!
I have purchased so many treasures at Strand over the years...I still have most in my library. One of my favorites is a 1697 edition of Dryden that I purchased at Strand while going to College in 1970 for $25. That book has since become a center piece in my library!
