Science Fiction Awards - 1975 to Present

Science fiction awards date back to 1953 with the first Hugo awards.

Various science fiction organizations meet every year to choose winners from among hundreds of submitted books. An author winning an award will instantly be sought after for talks and signings .. and for more books.

An award can boost the value of a book ... and will usually have a positive impact on the author's earlier books.

Awards are usually given in several different categories:

Best novel, best first novel, best paperback original, best non-fiction, best short story, etc.

We are listing the award winners for only the best novel and best first novel (if there is one). We will often focus on these authors and/or their other books when deciding what to collect.

Here are some of the major science fiction and fantasy novel awards dating as far back as 1975:

John W. Cambell Memorial Awards For Science Fiction

John W. Campbell Awards For New Writers

Hugo Awards

Locus Awards

Nebula Awards

World Fantasy Awards
