Rubaiyat
by: Bob

The true first edition of this book was published in 1859 by Bernard Quarich and is valued at $30,000 to $45,000.

Interesting enough there were many reprints over the next few decades that are worth thousands of dollars.

Your copy is by Hurst which is a reprinter that began business in the 1870s. Your book when compared to others on www.abebooks.com appears to be worth about $35 - $75.

I have evaluated Hurst published books a few times - they are usually valued at less than $100 even when 100+ years old.

It's very important to have a first edition. These have been prized by book collectors for centuries. Reprints go way down in value.

Thanks very much for the picture and submission.
Bob
