I was unable to find any books that matched your description. A first edition of the book could be worth thousands.

I'm confused by the two dates you gave me. 1818 is the date of the first edition. But 1889 would mean a much later reprint. And a much lower value.

And I could see no mention of the word temple in my search results.

You might want to take it to a rare book dealer for appraisal.
