A visitor to the site told me that he could only find 2nd printings of this book at Barnes and Noble. I found the same thing when I went there and found none at Borders.

I e-mailed the author and will let you know what he says about firsts.

He will be at Powell's on Mar 4th to sign but I don't know if they will be firsts. You can try ordering one there but be sure you tell them ... there is a comment area before you submit your order ... that you want one with a "1" in the number line.
