Kim Stanley Robinson, Science Fiction Author
Kim Stanley Robinson is originally from California. He went to college at the University of California at San Diego and at Boston University. His Ph.D. thesis was later published in 1984 as The Novels of Phillip K. Dick (the well-known science fiction author). Mr. Robinson's most notable books have been the Mars Trilogy of Red Mars, Green Mars and Blue Mars. Red Mars won a Nebula Award while Green Mars won the Hugo Award. I have only two of his books, Antartica which I understand he researched by going there. And I have Blue Mars. I almost bought the UK versions of Red Mars and Green Mars in Austin last year but I did not as both books had yellowed pages. I'll keep looking. Mr. Robinson's last three books have earth's climate change as the subject. Here is a list of his books: | Title | Year Published | Award | | The Wild Shore | 1983 | Macdonald | | Kehenge | 1985 | Macdonald | | The Memory of Whiteness | 1985 | Tor | | Icehenge | 1986 | Macdonald | | The Planet on the Table | 1986 | Tor | | The Gold Coast | 1988 | St. Martin's | | Escape from Kathmandu | 1989 | Tor | | A Short Sharp Shock | 1990 | Ziesing | | Pacific Edge | 1990 | Tor | | A Sensitive Dependence on Initial Conditions | 1991 | Pulphouse Fiction | | Red Mars | 1992 | Harper Collins | | Green Mars | 1993 | Harper Collins | | Blue Mars | 1996 | Bantam | | Antarctica | 1998 | Bantam | | Martians | 1999 | Harper Collins | | The Years of Rice and Salt | 2002 | Harper Collins | | Forty Signs of Rain | 2004 | Bantam | | Fifty Degrees Below | 2005 | Bantam | | Sixty Days and Counting | 2007 | Bantam | Red Mars value is currently ranges from $550 - 900 for a fine/fine/signed copy.
