Hours of Idleness: A Series of Poems, Original and Translated

by Jenn Doucette
(Snohomish, Washington)

by Lord Byron

Not sure how old this copy is, somewhere between 1857 and 1894 (the owner's name is written in pencil, a X-mas gift to Johnnie from Mildred, 1894).

Leatherbound with a cotton backing. Leather is in fairly poor shape and crackling in many places. On the cover is only the word "Byron" in gold cursive lettering. At the beginning is included "Life of Lord Byron" and is dated October 1857. 576 pages, the inside cover is a lovely green background with brown flower/leaf pattern. Pages have gold edging.

As a total book freak and author, this treasure makes me salivate just holding it. It belonged to my husband's grandmother (Mildred). My husband's brother almost threw it in the garbage but hubby saved it for me. Hoorah!
