Friends of the Library Bookshop, Midland, Texas

by John
(Texas)

This is a totally volunteer run bookstore that benefits a local County Library with its profits. The shop is only open a couple of days a week and all the books are donated items but it is a fun place to hunt for that elusive first edition.

In past years, I have found an early Agatha Christie first edition in jacket, a first edition On The Wings of Eagles with 12 signatures, a signed North Dallas Forty, and many other "finds". The cost? The most I have ever paid for any of these books is $5.

The volunteers are helpful and show their love of books by their dedicated hard work and faithfulness that benefits the local library financially.

It is a great place, full of fun people and treasures to be discovered!

There are thousands of books at great prices. The people that volunteer there are the friendliest that I have met! They are helpful and kind. I enjoyed my visit and have told everyone I know about how wonderful it is!

We just moved to Midland and found out about this book store. It is awesome! The volunteers are sooo helpful and there is so much variety! The kids loved it too! They have a children's section and a homeschool section as well.
