Data Base of Collectible Books
This is my data base of potentially valuable collectible books.
I have a ranking system which helps me estimate the potential value of a book based on several variables.
I started the data base in late 2007 and it now has over 300 books dating from that time.
My goal is to find the highest potential collectible books ... while they are still cheap. And to be in a position to buy them when they are released to bookstores and online web sites such as Amazon.
My web site has grown over the last two years. I'm trying to create a member only area of the web site where people can come to learn about the latest collectible books.
Eventually I will charge a fee. But first I would like it to be very useful and interesting. So I am showing you the beginnings of the members only site.
The first part will be the data base. It is now a Google spreadsheet "in the clouds". It can be accessed by the link below.

Please let me know if you have
questions, comments or ideas
about this area of the site. These would be for me or other members.
Consider Helping Me Build The Data Base
I'll be also putting the
books I've collected into a data base. You'll be able to see what I've collected other than the books of the month.
I'll likely add a page on various web sites to go to for information ... in other words - links.
All this takes time so ...
If you have the time and skills I would like you to consider helping me research new books to put in the data base.
Why would you do that?
Well, because you will get to see part of the system for selecting the books.
And it isn't really that much time or work. I'm thinking of gradually allowing up to four people at a time to work on the data base. If you don't like it you can drop out and I'll see if there are others who want to try it.
It will really help us all. As I screen out some books that don't really interest me. One of you may uncover a book that I wouldn't have.
This gives me time to work on other parts of the web site and with more eyes looking for books it will be less likely that we'll miss an important book.
Entering the data will be very easy. It is simply a form where you will enter information.
You'll then see the ratings for a particular book within a few minutes after it goes through a Google spreadsheet. (Pretty neat! At least it is supposed to work that way).
I'll be testing this area in the next several days.
Below is a form you can fill out if you are interested in applying to help me with research.
