"Courtship of Miles Standish"

by Becky R
(Nebraska)

by Henry W. Longfellow - published by Hurst & Company, New York - no publishing date.

Appears to be VERY old - cover feels like it's lightly padded and feels like soft leather but where it's worn, it looks more like paper. The design in the cover looks almost like tree bark. "Courtship of Miles Standish" is in gold script on the front cover and on the spine. The cover is quite worn and the spine is torn but mostly complete. The inside pages of the book, however, are almost in PERFECT condition!!

I just flipped through it again, and I did find 6 pages that have a small brown stain that is lighter on some pages than the others. The edges of the pages are gold with a reddish tinge to them, and the edges are in excellent condition. The book is approx. 4" x 6" and approx. 1" thick.

There is a very nice color picture of Longfellow in the front.
