C J Box - Anthony Award Winning Mystery AuthorC J Box had his first novel, Open Season, published in 2001. The book won three awards for best first novel: Anthony, Macavity and Barry. The book was also a finalist for Edgar Best First Novel. I had intended to buy and get his first book signed at the 2002 BoucherCon. But the available books were $60. More than I wanted to pay at the time. Recently, at a mystery book store ... I overheard the manager excitedly talking to a customer about an author's latest books. They both were big fans of Mr. Box! So I decided to look at his books again. I found a signed copy of Open Season on ABE for only $40 and added it to my collection. Mr. Box has published a total of eight novels including Blue Heaven coming out in early 2008:
