10 Best Science Fiction Novels I've Read
Of the 10 best science fiction novels that I've read, I only own two. Most are expensive. I looked up the recent prices for these science fiction books on ABE.com. Older books before 1980 are generally offered in only very good condition. So a fine/fine copy of Dune, for example, would be much higher perhaps twice as expensive. Here is my list of the ten best science fiction novels that I've read:
| Author | Book | Year | Price | | Frank Herbert | Dune | 1965 | 5000-10000 | | Robert Heinlein | Starship Troopers | 1959 | 3500-4500 | | Orson Scott Card | Ender's Game | 1985 | 2500 | | Dan Simmons | Hyperion | 1989 | 250-350 | | Orson Scott Card | Speaker For The Dead | 1986 | 200-250 | | Isaac Asimov | The God's Themselves | 1972 | 125-200 | | Peter Hamilton | Reality Dysfunction | 1996 | 475-600 | | Robert Heinlein | Red Planet | 1949 | 750-1250 | | Larry Niven | Ringworld | 1970 | ? | | John Scalzi | Old Man's War | 2004 | 350 |
All of these except Red Planet are adult science fiction. I read Red Planet many years ago as a boy of 13. I don't remember all of it and it is dated based on what we know about Mars today. But I really enjoyed it. If you're interested in more science fiction lists, here is a link to a site with lists of top
